Got forwarded these photographs. They're apparently of Indias first Independence day on 15th August 1947. My apologies to the anonymous photographer. I thought them rather fantastic hence im posting these here. I love the mood of the pictures somehow. The people milling in and around Rashtrapati Bhavan like that is impossible now. There does seem to be an environment of celebration...and isnt it so nice that even with so many people around.. the grounds seem wonderfully clean.
Nice .. do wish you would add the "Share" gadget so we can fwd it to Facebook etc. Just go to Design on top right of page, click. Then click on Edit Blog Posts and you'll get the option to add the little Share icon at the bottom of each post.
